"Weathered" Black Canyon of the Gunnison

As we traveled along the bottom of the Canyon on the Gunnison River it was so mind blowing that the river, now sadly, tamed by man, could carve out such a beautiful pathway through the mountains. Only the pure force and energy of water could do something so destructive and yet beautiful. She is a force not to be reckoned with and one we should not grow too comfortable in the idea that we have her tamed. It was here on the very bottom of the canyon that I was able to capture some of the more unique and colorful rock formations. Each piece weathered over the years to become absolutely perfect!
